I will share this passion and love with anyone who walks through our doors.
Those who know me well would say I’m passionate, caring and hard working. I was never the sporty guy growing up. I played a few sports, but was never that good and spent more time playing video games than sport.
My fitness journey would have started when my Dad enrolled me into Karate for self defence. I had very low self esteem as a kid and I have no doubt that this helped direct me to where I am today. It was martial arts that eventually led me to my first CrossFit workout. A friend invited me over to do a workout that consisted of some basic bodyweight movements. I thought “hey, how hard could that be”, so like any 20 year old I hit it with maximum intensity.
My first CrossFit workout ended up with me laying on my back down the side of my friends house. This was the hardest I had ever worked, and I loved it! I came back the next day, and the next and this is where it all began. Eventually we found a CrossFit gym up the northern end of the Gold Coast, but I saw a need for something in Tweed Heads, and in 2010 CrossFit Border began.
Starting out wasn’t easy, and when you are training from your parents garage it all comes down to the experience instead of the facility. Fast forward to now and Belle and myself have grown CrossFit Border into what it is today. This place is more than just a gym… It’s a family that works hard, shares the pain and always comes out better because of it.
Fitness is now a huge part of my life because of that first workout in 2008, and I will share this passion and love with anyone who walks through our doors.
